Urban Green is looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Landscape Architect with a minimum of 5Years’ experience working in practice to join our dynamic and experienced team.

Working in our new studio space in Manchester, the role is part of a growing team, involved in a diverse range of challenging and exciting schemes across the UK.  In exchange, you must demonstrate a passion for Landscape Architecture, creative flair, excellent design ability, innovative solutions, graphic and communication skills.

This is fantastic opportunity for a Senior Landscape Architect to take the next step in developing their career, who would like to be actively involved in all stages of the design process, is seeking to create forward thinking solutions and is looking to lead projects and mentor and manage an enthusiastic team of Landscape Designers/Planners, alongside our established Arboriculture and Ecology teams.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and manage a team of Landscape Architects to successfully complete tasks/projects
  • Prepare, coordinate and manage high quality studies and presentations
  • Deliver projects through all the LI/RIBA work stages to a high standard
  • Demonstrate strong design and job running ability, coordinating a team effort
  • Work under their own initiative as part of the design team or alone on individual project tasks
  • Strong knowledge of current Planning and Environmental legislation
  • Maintain quality standards and demonstrating efficient and profitable delivery

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Chartered Landscape Architecture qualified to degree level
  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
  • Demonstrable experience/knowledge in the design and delivery of projects
  • A creative and talented designer
  • Strong CAD, graphic (Adobe) and hand drawn sketching capability
  • Experience of NBS Specification Manager, Sketchup
  • A keen interest in the landscape and environment
  • Initiative and drive, with a positive attitude
  • Aspirations to work on innovative schemes
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with colleagues and clients at all levels
  • Desirable - Experience in delivery of projects in residential, leisure and commercial sectors
  • Desirable - Experience in EIA and LVIA projects utilising GLVIA and other current guidance an advantage
