Are you an experienced arboricultural consultant looking for a new role?

The senior role will play a key role in managing and delivering high quality arboricultural consultancy services to budget and to agreed deadlines. This will include the completion of tree surveys in accordance with BS5837, VTAs, tree management plans, woodland management plans and mortgage reports. You will also play a role in mentoring and developing other team members.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, manage and deliver arboriculture projects across various sectors
  • Support multi-disciplinary projects and offer advice and the benefit of your experience to the wider arboriculture team and the business/other disciplines
  • Undertake a variety of arboricultural surveys and risk assessments and produce associated reports
  • Where necessary, assist in CAD work and undertaking surveys using handheld data capture
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and job running abilities
  • Assist in all aspects / duties as necessary including supporting the team manager, analysing survey data, writing and checking reports and assisting in the general workload of the arboriculture team
  • Mentor and manage other team members as required

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Arboriculture or related subject
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as the Arboricultural Association
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in an arboricultural consultancy role
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience of tree surveying techniques and risk/hazard assessment methodologies
  • Understanding of the principles of Visual Tree Assessment and the ability to work methodically through the process
  • Strong working knowledge of current planning and environmental legislation
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience and ability to negotiate with and obtain agreement from a wide range of clients and statutory consultees
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work at all levels with colleagues and clients
  • A positive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to work, under your own initiative or within a multidisciplinary team environment
