We’re delighted to share that Urban Green have been featured in Insider Media’s North West Most Exciting Workplaces, recognising our expanded Manchester headquarters and the role the workplace plays in supporting its people, sustainability commitments and ambitious growth plans.
Following a period of sustained business growth and increasing client demand, we doubled the size of our Manchester headquarters to 4,000 sq ft, expanding onto the Ground and First floor. This has created a workplace designed to reflect our culture, encourage collaboration and provide room for the team to continue growing.
Located within the Grade II listed former Threlfalls Brewery in Manchester, the office brings together the heritage of the building with a modern, high-specification working environment. Original metal columns, exposed architectural details and impressive floor-to-ceiling heights sit alongside natural light, contemporary design and carefully planned collaborative spaces.
The new space also reflects the people and work behind Urban Green. Photography displayed throughout the office has been taken by our employees, showcasing wildlife and habitats alongside projects the team has delivered across the UK. An original drawing board has also been retained, celebrating both the heritage of the building and the profession.
As a design and environmental consultancy, Urban Green are committed to reflecting within our own operations the environmental standards we encourage clients to achieve. The team continually monitors our carbon footprint and have introduced a range of measures to reduce our environmental impact, including procuring renewable energy, encouraging car sharing for site visits, operating hybrid vehicles and providing an office bicycle for sustainable journeys around Manchester.
Environmentally responsible purchasing is also part of day-to-day life at Urban Green, from Rainforest Alliance-certified coffee and sustainable paper products to a strong focus on recycling.
Urban Green Directors, Martin King and Gemma King, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to see our Manchester headquarters recognised as one of the North West’s most exciting workplaces. We wanted to create a space that feels distinctly Urban Green – one that reflects our people, our work and our values, while giving us the flexibility to continue growing. Our team and culture have always been central to the success of the business, so it was important that the expanded office provided an environment where people can collaborate, share ideas and enjoy coming to work. This recognition is a real credit to everyone at Urban Green and an exciting reflection of how far the business has come.”
With capacity for more than 60 workstations across two floors, the expanded headquarters gives Urban Green the flexibility to grow its team while maintaining the collaborative culture that has helped differentiate the business. Additionally, this has created space for hot-desks allowing other Celnor Group companies to use the space to bring their services to clients in Manchester and the North of England.
The recognition from Insider Media follows another significant period for Urban Green, which joined Celnor’s Built Environment division in October 2025. The expanded headquarters represents an important investment in the next stage of the business, providing a strong platform to continue growing our team and supporting clients across the UK.
