Trees – Your Risk and Responsibilities

Trees are fantastic assets with many benefits! However, they do require management

Under the Occupiers Liability Act 1984 anyone with responsibility for land or trees is required to put in place procedures to identify and manage risk.

A planned inspection programme must be established to ensure trees are inspected on a regular basis and any potential defects or hazards are identified and managed.

What Do I Need to Do?

Landowners and estate managers should invest in a tree survey and risk assessment completed by an experienced, competently trained arboricultural consultant as provided by Urban Green.

Our clients receive an interactive online map which provides a comprehensive, visual representation of their tree stock along with the individual tree data including:

  • Tree species
  • Physical measurements
  • Age
  • Overall health
  • Life expectancy
  • Management recommendations

With the ability to apply bespoke filters and visual tools to suit their needs – this enables those responsible to fulfil their obligations under the act whilst allowing informed decisions to be made on their tree assets, such as planned maintenance.
