Manchester-based design and environmental consultancy Urban Green has appointed Gareth Meadows as director of arboriculture.
Gareth draws upon over 25 years’ experience in the industry and has previously worked at RSK, Delta Simons and Amey. He will establish and grow the company’s presence in the South of England, building upon an existing secured pipeline of work in the region to establish a southern operation, with recruitment planned across all disciplines. He will maintain and develop existing and new client relationships, with projects already confirmed across all sectors.

We will be looking to recruit and replicate the successes of our established multidisciplinary design and environmental team in the North.”

Meadows joins at an exciting time with the business reaching its 10th anniversary and the team growing beyond 30 staff.
The practice is Mace’s Strategic Partner delivering the DfE School Rebuilding Programme (SRP) nationally across England with a significant number across the Midlands and South. Alongside which the energy sector has seen significant growth over the last few years with numerous battery energy storage schemes (BESS) as well as solar farms nationally, including recent planning applications at East End BESS, Hertfordshire for FRV Powertek and Ninfield Greener Grid, East Sussex BESS for Statkraft. Urban Green are also delivering multi-disciplinary services for long term client Chancerygate across the region across their commercial logistics and industrial warehousing projects, including recent schemes at Leatherhead and Milton Keynes.
Alan Butler joins at the same time as Senior Arboricultural Surveyor, drawing upon 25 years’ experience having previously worked at Avove, Kier Highways, Amey and Scottish Power. He will take a lead on project managing and delivering our secured large-scale tree Health and Safety assessments, along with maintaining strong relationships and communication with clients.
