Almost 1,000 trees across 37 sites across Greater Manchester were surveyed for our long-term client Arcon Housing. Using the visual tree assessment method, our surveyors completed a 36o degree inspection of each tree completed from ground level. This is based on the premise that tree defects are typically identifiable by external signs when viewed by an experienced tree surveyor.
Existing tree data was provided on Ordnance Survey base maps. This made accurate tree plotting challenging. This data was transferred into a GIS system to allow data collection to be legal obligation of tree ownership the housing association.
Urban Green also managed their annual maintenance budget circa £20k to ensure conformance with their legal obligation of tree ownership. This involved the management of the tender process to source reputable tree contractors, along with contract management and completion of work inspections.
