A fond farewell to our year out work placements as they return to university

Last month we said farewell to three of our year out work placements as they returned to university to complete their last year of studies.

Liam McDermott and Oliver Loomes both return to Leeds Beckett University to study Landscape Architecture. Whilst Matt Pilkington returns to Manchester Metropolitan University to complete his studies in Ecology following a year out placement and seasonal work at Urban Green.

Liam McDermott, assistant landscape architect explained;

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Urban Green. It’s been the perfect place to work as a year out.”

Matt Pilkington, assistant ecologist said;

“I have been fortunate to have worked within a very passionate and supportive team. Their hard work and enthusiasm has been positively infectious.”

Oliver Loomes, assistant landscape architect revealed;

“The wide range of projects have been engaging and challenging ...and the team has been supportive throughout. This has set me up brilliantly for my Masters in Landscape Architecture.”

Urban Green is committed to supporting future talent within the design and environmental industry. Work experience placements offer students the opportunity to gain essential skills and knowledge, which can only be gained from hands on experience.

Martin King, managing director said,

“Liam, Matt and Oliver have been fantastic additions to the team and valued employees over the last 12 months. We all wish them well in their studies and I'm sure we'll be crossing paths again very soon. ”
