Pioneer Place

£23m leisure and retail complex will transform part of Burnley town centre

Work on Pioneer Place started in January 2022, 16 years after the site’s redevelopment was first broached. The £23m scheme funded by Burnley Borough Council with £3.2m grant support from Lancashire County Council, includes a seven-screen cinema and five retail and leisure units plus a 226-space car park. Completed in summer 2023, it is hoped the complex will bring new visitors to the town centre during the day and into the evening and along with delivering new jobs.
